Crafty does Digi
June 12, 2007 at 2:00 pm | In new products | 4 CommentsIt is with great pleasure I announce the 1st Crafty Matters Digital Kit.
With the help of the very talented Digi Queen (and CMC girl) Vita Thai, we have created a digital kit using one of my most favourite, and popular designs from my plate painting days.
Here is Vita’s fantastic layout she created using the kit- Totally digital. It looks fab!
Sooo, youre not a digital scrapper? Dont worry, neither am I, however, I love the idea of using elements from a digital kit, printing them out, and putting them together on a page.
its called Hybrid Scrapping, and most of you are probably already doing it, if you have ever added brushes, or text to a photo- you are Hybrid Scrapping.
Here are some layouts to give you some ideas-
Mardi has printed out the Blue Lines paper to use behind her photos, and then added the Red Frame to the photo and printed them out as one piece. She has also used the Date Stamp to great effect, using it twice on the Layout.AND she managed to add one of the ‘teen’ ceramic tiles to finish it off!
On This next layout, I have printed out the Blue Lines Paper, and teamed it with a very similar blue cardstock to create a subtle background for the rather bright cars! I also placed the Date Stamp on a piece of the Lime Graph paper that i had cut and pasted in photoshop, before printing that out, and adding it to the layout.(and i need to write the date ON it too- oops)
You might notice too, that i have used a ceramic heart in stone, and used a permanent pen to draw a black outline on the heart to help it stand out (and the colour of the heart matched the Heidi photo corners nicely too LOL)
Did you also notice that both my Layout and Mardis are 12×12 (and we both have A4 printers).
Here is the next Layout, and its by Katie.

She has designed the background of the layout by choosing from the diffferent papers in the kit, and then cutting and pasting them onto a new a4 canvas before printing it out to use as the background for the layout- it looks so effective, and imagine the possibilities with all those different papers in the kit. The Red Frame has been added to the photo before being printed out, and Katie has also printed out a journal block and a Date stamp for the journalling.
And finally, the last layout to show you- I have also created my background for this layout in Photoshop, using the Race track and Round journal blocks, and the red frame.Once they were printed out on the white cardstock- i cut the centre of the frame out and added the photo from the back of the layout. The green graph paper was printed out separately, torn and inked and then added to the layout.

As you can see on both Katie and my layouts, I have a painted ceramic tile with a car to match- these are available to order too.
so there you have it- hope you loved the examples the girls have pulled together as much as i have- Its been fun watching them come through the inbox.
so, here are the Stats
The Beep Beep kit includes- 6 papers, 1 frame, 4 journal ’stamps’, 2 journal ’stickers’, 1 Date Stamp and 3 staples
all of this for just $7
The kit will be available via a downloadable sharefile (and if you have already downloaded the freebie you will be familiar with how it works)
When you have ordered your kit (and payment has been cleared ) you will receive an email with a password that will allow you to access the kit and download it within 24hrs.
The file formats are JPEGS and PNG files .
A basic knowledge of Photoshop is recommended, however the kit can be used in Word programs too.
This kit is copyright to Crafty Matters, and is for personal use only- not to be shared, resold or used commercially without the permission of Crafty Matters. Please credit Crafty Matters designs when sharing layouts on blogs, websites or submitting layouts to magazines. Also, please do not share your layouts on retail websites where Crafty Matters products are not sold.
The ceramic tiles -car design- are available for $2 each, and you can choose the colour you would like from the colour palette in the flower product section.
So thats it, in a rather long post. I really hope you like what we have done, and would like to give it a go- Vita and I have more ideas in the pipeline- and i have 8 yrs of designs to draw on.
